Sole, I am so sorry to read this… But I would dare to say, keep trying at least for a bit longer since this is a friendship you have had for 9 years! Maybe you will regret not trying later and I think it’s better to know you tried even if it didn’t work and made it hurt more than regretting not doing so. This is funny to say from me because I have started to give zero f*cks about some people lately since I got bored of searching and caring for them while they don’t, you know. But I am pretty sure this is [at least a bit] different because of the time you’ve been friends with her.

Also, it sucks relationships and specially friendships end somehow like that, and even more when they are that close ones. We tend to take some things for granted (some more than others) and thinking about the others becomes a rarely seen feature instead of a common one.
