There is a man that had a point of view similar to this years ago…he had some brilliant ideas and was himself quite a gifted coder, IIRC. He is one of the so called fathers of virtual reality and even founded a company around the concept of a visual programming language. While he’s been quite influential in many areas of computer technology and philosophy, his ideas about programming in a “post symbolic” fashion never really found purchase (save for early computer education and a few other narrow domains). His name is Jaron Lanier…look it up.
