When our leaders are more interested in grandstanding, vanity projects, or political theatre than in addressing pressing issues like healthcare, economic inequality, or climate change, it's a recipe for disaster. In a sense, these are symptoms of a deeper cultural and moral crisis, one that requires a renewed commitment to civic education, ethical leadership, and a shared vision of the common good.

Of course, this is easier said than done, and it requires a lot more than just "voting the bums out." It requires a shift in our values and priorities as a society, and a willingness to hold ourselves and our leaders accountable to higher standards of conduct and moral leadership.
