There are hundreds of E-liquid evaluators in domestic video websites and forums, but there is no article telling everyone how to do E-liquid evaluation. The evaluation of E-liquid can be complicated, unlike steam smoke equipment. Many reviewers believe that E-liquid is too subjective and not willing to do this kind of evaluation. This background is completely endorsed. But the quality of an E-liquid is still subject to some objective laws. In the background, I have sent many imported brands of E-liquid to various players (novices, ordinary players, professional reviewers), plus some daily communication between the background and the reviewers and perfumers at home and abroad. It also sorted out the following tips for domestic reviewers.

1.Blind Test

The first recommendation of Backstage Jun is blind testing, which may not be easy for many reviewers, but the blind testing experience is extremely important for the acquisition of real data. Blind testing means that the reviewer records his true feelings and thoughts about the measured E-liquid without knowing the taste of E-liquid, knowing the nicotine content, not knowing the PG/VG ratio, and not being affected by others’ evaluation.

Backstage Jun once gave a bottle of imported E-liquid torn off the label and told him that we thought it was a great E-liquid. In our E-liquid score sheet (we have an evaluation form with a score of 10 out of each factor), each of them gives a good score. Then we gave him a bottle of E-liquid and told him that our testers felt very general, and the score he gave was much lower, and he didn’t know that the two E-liquids were the same. Here is the importance of blind measurement for real data acquisition.

When you’re ready to test an E-liquid and just forget or don’t know the flavor that should be presented in this E-liquid description, this is a good thing to some extent. Try blinding and jotting down all the flavors you can discern, and then telling the taste. This will not only help you to distinguish the general E-liquid, enhance your taste, but also improve your ability to tasting E-liquid. Your own blind test data will protect you from the rhetoric or malignancy of some E-liquid by some other reviewers. Remember: believe in yourself.

2. Don’t build the final evaluation results on the original idea (don’t prematurely draw conclusions)

Each E-liquid has a fluidity (or instability) characteristic, which means that the taste will be different at different time periods after the factory, even during the day, different equipment, different atomizer resistance, different power settings, etc. The difference. In order to get relatively objective data, not only do the reviewers need to persist for several days, but also the reviewers need to use at least three different types of atomizers at different time of the day (novice entry level atomizer, finished oil storage, drop Oil) collects data. To get a set of objective data requires a lot of work, just because a reviewer likes or dislikes an E-liquid taste in a certain period of time, it is not enough to give an E-liquid qualitative score. If an E-liquid gives an excellent taste release in the afternoon and a bad taste in the morning, the end consumer is well worth knowing. It is recommended that the reviewer should prepare some clean drip atomizers, use new heating wires and cotton, and use different devices to collect as much of their mouthfeel data as possible during different time periods to verify whether the flavor is restored or not. The atomization core, PG/VG ratio is correct (some E-liquid manufacturers may blindly increase the VG in order to meet the cloud controller’s requirements on the amount of smoke, causing the VG’s atomization cover to pass some flavor ingredients and make the taste worse. To a very good restore, or easy to paste in the process of use) and so on. Take the American crazy Mike as an example. This E-liquid maximizes the proportion of VG in the base liquid on the basis of atomization to restore the flavor of the essence, so as to achieve both the taste and the amount of smoke. Therefore, the base ratio of a certain E-liquid is also very important. In addition, if the conditions of the assessor are not allowed and different E-liquids are required to use the same atomizer, it is important to thoroughly clean them. String flavor is an important reason why many E-liquid flavors cannot be reduced.

To do an objective E-liquid evaluation is a very serious matter, so there will not be too many people willing to spend a lot of time, energy and patience in this work.

3. Use RDA (single or dual)

Anyone who has done the evaluation knows that it is necessary to use the RDA atomizer. This means you have to learn to make your own silk. Although it’s a bit of a hassle, consider that the silk you make can last longer and it’s easier to replace the cotton, because then you need to change the E-liquid frequently to compare the analysis. After a taste test is completed, all you have done is to quickly remove the cotton, start to burn the hot wire and atomize the residue of an E-liquid, and then install the new cotton, you can start the next E-liquid test. It is.

Many players are confused about using single or double shots when using RDA? Backstage Jun believes that it is best to use a single shot to test the taste of E-liquid alone. First, when you need to test a lot of E-liquid, this can save a lot of time; second, single shots can often atomize a more pure, more accurate taste. If you use double hair, if you have a difference in the uniformity or resistance of the silk, it may cause excessive heat on one side and too slow heat conduction, which will greatly affect the effect and taste of E-liquid atomization.

4. Taste buds return

When the tester tests a variety of E-liquids for a long time, the taste buds may be tired or disordered. At this time, it is necessary to master some methods of returning the taste buds. Backstage Jun has sorted out some common methods used by foreign gods, and I have tried it myself. The effect is not bad. You can learn from it.

1. Make sure that you do not eat food that may affect the taste buds before making the evaluation. Some irritating foods such as peppers.

2. If you feel that the taste buds are tired and tidy, you can use fresh water to rinse your mouth or brush your teeth. Some great gods think that it is better to change fresh water to milk.

3. Try a fresh water rinse, test it repeatedly, and record your feelings before each test. This may be more helpful in discovering the essence of an E-liquid.

4. Sniff the coffee powder with your nose. If you have a box of coffee grind, you can smell it for a long time until you don’t notice the smell of coffee. This way you can get your taste buds back. When you test the E-liquid taste later, you will find that the sensitivity of the sense of smell and taste is greatly enhanced.

5. For a certain E-liquid continuous uninterrupted pumping for at least one week

First of all, you can make a test card and list all the criteria that you think you judge the quality of an E-liquid. For example, the sense of throat, smell, quality of flavor, (mixed E-liquid) flavor matching effect, PG / VG base ratio and so on. Just as a university professor evaluates the quality of your paper, there is usually a numerical result and some comments. Set these factors to the 1–10 points, and leave a comment position next to them to record your specific feelings and evaluations. With this form, you know where to focus in the testing process.

Still have to emphasize that each E-liquid remembers that at least three different types of nebulizers are needed to measure. The assessor wants to get an E-liquid objective data that often requires at least 15 ml of E-liquid intake and takes at least a week.

The following points should also be noted by the reviewers.

1. Give the project you need to test for some time, don’t rush to conclusions.

2. Use your usual method of steaming smoke to test, not just “testing for evaluation” in front of the computer.

3. Try to take a while in the afternoon, after drinking coffee, even after drinking, record the feeling. Don’t forget to bring steam smoke when you go out.

4. Know that each person’s taste buds have their own unique judgment. If an E-liquid taste is not the type you like, consider who might like the taste and why it would be liked.

5. Test in a relatively natural environment. The humidity, pressure and even noise of the surrounding environment can affect your taste and smell. As we all know, when you are flying, the sensitivity of the sweet and salty taste will be reduced due to the high air pressure in the cabin, too low humidity, and even the noise from the engine engine. Therefore, the reviewer should choose a relatively natural environment during the test to eliminate some distracting factors as much as possible. Some laboratories also have a dedicated E-liquid tasting area.

6. Integrity first

If an evaluator is trying to promote a high commission E-liquid, or to maintain a good relationship with an E-liquid producer, and to convey some false news or exaggerated data to their fans, then please I remember that he will probably lose his faith to his fans soon. For professional reviewers, fans are their own customers, exaggerating, eating and drinking parents.

Regardless of whether it is for the reviewer or the company, honesty is the best marketing for yourself.

Because your fans will appreciate your honesty. A good brand should know you better, and even your honest feedback is the ladder that they need to improve.
