The watershed moment of the rise of egalitarianism in western democracies — brexit, the political movement of Donald Trump and that of Bernie Sanders

The hypocrisy of the left leaning liberals and the politics of self-interest of the right leaning conservatives have been exposed by these campaigns and will likely lead to a new political order in the west.
The British empire of the sun never sets fame voted on a referendum to exit from the European Union on June 23rd on what has been dubbed as British Independence Day; a new antithetical meaning for the word independence in the “English” dictionary. The remain vote was supported by both the establishment factions of the conservative and the labor parties in the UK and the leave was from independent factions mostly in the conservative party. Voters broke from their party affiliations to vote for brexit marking a shift in the political philosophy of left and right that has dominated western democracies for more than 50 years. This shift is to a more egalitarian system marked by self, family and country first over the wishes of an increasing and exceedingly corrupt political-business “ruling” class that has grown out of touch with the middle class reminiscent of the circumstances leading up to the French revolution in the 18th century. In this article, I explain my hypothesis above and connect it to a similar political revolution brewing across the pond in the United States where i live and vote with the campaigns of Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders.
Corrupt and a out-of-touch establishment of political and business class and elitism
Brussels, Washington DC or state capitals in the US like Sacramento are no longer the center for the people’s representatives who go about doing people’s business based on values, ideas and political philosophies. Instead they are a swarm of special interest and lobbyist from various industry groups that controls the political process largely there to ensure bottom line of corporations and industry groups at the expense of people’s health and well being. Peggy Noonan and others have written about this at length in describing the rise of Trump. Here is one such piece. This surreptitious intent is veiled with the usual rhetoric on both sides to mislead the voter. The mainstream media prefers not to rock this system or question the narrative as it has no accountability to its readers or viewers and instead needs the corporations and industry groups to sustain its existence.
The Brexit camp and to a large extent Donald Trump’s and Bernie Sanders’ campaign have surfaced this and has got the silent majority thinking showing the anger and frustrations at the polling booths. To get a sense of the size of this corruption in market value term, one can look at the loss of the global stock markets sustained after the brexit that is estimated to be the tune of $2 Trillion. So in other words, this is the market’s estimate of the potential loss of future earnings for the corporations around the world with Brussels and the corrupt political class loosing control of the British people and its resources. This is staggering and brings the home the point that how much the British people have been deprived by the corrupt political and business class that only a few benefit from. The Brexit is not a loss for global markets but renegotiations of terms by the British people to get compensated for their hard-work and ingenuity rather than pay commissions to the political brokers in Brussels who clearly did not have the interests aligned.
The rise and power of industry complexes such as the Big Pharma drug cartels that control Washington, the education bureaucracy is hurting young families and children
The size of the health care industry in the US as a proportion of the GDP is about 17% according to this World Bank report. Other Western countries have far less proportions of the GDP on health care in % terms and significantly lower in absolute terms compared to the US. For example, the UK and Germany are around 9 and 11% and China and Australia are closer to 5% and 9% respectively. This has put the Big Pharma Drug cartles in the US with enormous amount of influence and power with politicians and their ability to hire politicians like Hillary Clinton as a “lawyer” and advocate defending their atrocities against the people such as with unsafe vaccines and drugs. It a career suicide in Washington for any politician or a mainstream journalist to report on corruption at say the CDC and how it acts as a taxpayer funded center for development of the cartels — furthering the profits of the drug industry then preventing the diseases of the population. The rise of chronic diseases and the general degradation of health outcomes in US population is ample evidence of this fact. After all, the industry would actually shrink with a healthy population. This is hurting young families such as ours in matters that are significant like the health and well being of our children. Federal over-reach in education with common-core and a burgeoning education bureaucracy with little positive outcome to show has got several middle class families angry and left out of the process.
The rise of ISIS and its sympathizers in the west
Opponents of Brexit have attributed rising anti-immigrant sentiment and labeled the exit supporters with racists and other labels. This is far from truth and is a ploy used by politicians to distract from the real issues, which are security, jobs and economic security. The recent ISIS inspired or led attacks in Europe and US, the growing sympathizers and the seemingly appeasement policies of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in support of their vote banks has got the ordinary citizen worried about their safety. Even though not politically correct in its face, the bold debates into solutions by Donald Trump to address ISIS and issues stemming from terrorism and even illicit drugs in schools have a refreshing appeal to the voter.
In conclusion
These realities have created the situation not different from the days of the French revolution in the 18th century where the commoners carried the burden for the clergy and nobility. In modern days, the middle and working class carry the burden of the corrupt corporations and cartels and the politicians, together the ruling class, and the social inequality is rampant. The Brexit leave campaigners, Donald Trump as as well as Bernie Sanders have captured this dissonance and have made it the central theme of their respective campaigns. The establishment ruling class facing an existential threat as underscored in this article is fighting back with attempts to discourage voters on how such a political tsunami would be uncertain and hence be dreadful for everyone as we saw in the campaign in Britain. Britain already voted this week to disregard that warning and to throw the ruling class out; will America do the same in November?
