Yep. I was a frontend dev, and my ability to write good CSS and HTML and think creatively were my most valuable skills. I could do some JS, and could integrate templates into backend, but for me making the interface right was so important. And why wouldn’t it be?! But as other people here have commented, hardcore JS skills have become a must (or so recruiters say), and so I moved into UX.
Years later I am now helping to recruit a FED, and I am specifically looking for someone with a passion for impeccable HTML and CSS.
