Nice perspective Oo Nwoye. “Face the direction you’re moving towards” still brings up “North South East West problem”. Well, I guess why they stuck with the words travel and direction is that the travelators always lead to the terminals (end points) alone. So might be the catch to trick users to just keep facing their direction of travel :)

“Face ya front” makes sense to me. very neutral but one might ask why should I face front? and that phrase is generally interpreted “mind your business” which might still not communicate the reference to the travelators.

Being bold enough to say something like “Do not turn around on the travelator to avoid any accident” might as well make sense but an icon can still speak the long words. lools
