Job searching is tough, it is even tougher if you are trying to make a career switch. One question that always came up to me when I interact with a lot of people who want to get into the data industry is this: How should I prepare for a data/product analyst interview? and What question should I expect in a data analyst interview? In this article, I am going to share my interview experience with FAANG and tips to prepare for a data analyst interview.
Technical Skills
Coding skills: SQL, Python, R
Having good technical skills is usually a mandatory requirement for an analyst role as it is the main tool for you to extract the data. You should always expect an online screening technical test for SQL, Python or R. SQL will be something that you need to focus on. Python or R will be depending on the role, not all analyst roles require Python or R but it is always preferred to have it. Sometimes you might need to extract the data via third-party API or schedule your table via Airflow. Always practice your coding skills on the websites such as LeetCode or HackerRank.
