It was a delight to watch glimpses of ‘Athi Rudra Maha Yagya’ at the Art of living international center, Bangalore in the presence of my master, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar which happened from 19th to 22nd of January this year. I was excited about how this year started on such an auspicious note. This Yagya was specifically done for world peace, to uplift the universal consciousness.

As magnificent as it may sound, I was intrigued by the number of times the Rudram was chanted (14641). Though it’s not right to look for logic and rational in every small thing that we do, for this particular event, I somehow felt the number 14641 was not so random, and that it had a divine purpose.

Undoubtedly, the Athi Rudra Maha Yagya is beyond the intellectual understanding of our limited mind and logic. It can be conceived and executed to its full potential only by an enlightened master. This write-up is a humble attempt from my ‘limited grey matter’ to tell the world, how important this Magnificent Rudram was for global peace. Please stay with me till the end as I take you through the hidden intricacies of this magnanimous event, and how it can unravel the most amazing secrets of this universe !!

As I mentioned earlier the numbers in this event have great significance. There was 1 big ‘Main Kunda’ (fire altar where the main event — fire ceremony was performed) in which ‘Shiva’ was invoked.
