A dual MBA program is a program in which a student completes two masters programs at a fast track pace due to the fact that core courses in one of the degree programs can actually double in the form of electives in another. It’s an excellent way to get an education in business that suits a graduate student’s needs, providing a more diverse education than would be offered only in an MBA. A Dual MBA program gives one an edge over other students, while entering into the job market. Attaining a dual MBA involves adding an additional Masters degree to the Masters in Business Administration in order to enhance the profile of a graduate student with more expertise and skill set in a particular area of interest. Also, it restructures two degree programs together while concentrating on two areas, hence cutting down the costs. Students, who grab such opportunities in the right manner, may choose to attend a business school that conducts both the programs with excellent academic quality, at a fast pace. Irrespective of what path a graduate school student follows, attaining a dual MBA is recommended when a student wants to create an outstanding profile for herself/himself.

Selecting a Specialization

A very important task while considering a dual MBA is to choose an area of specialization that would be worthwhile, an area that would have the most positive impact on your career growth in order to pursue a more competitive post graduation. With such high competition, one needs to outshine others and showcase competencies which others might lack. In addition, employers are also looking for the cream. Highly rated areas of specialization include Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, International Business, Information Technology, Entrepreneurship etc. In addition, the second Masters program should be a degree that would provide a graduate with more prospects after graduation. Post this hectic and rigorous program, students will actually hold two masters degrees that are related to the field of business, providing them with an advantage over other candidates. Interestingly, in addition to a Masters in Business Administration, students can choose a Juris Doctor (J.D.), a professional doctorate in law, a Master in Science, or a Master in Arts or any other commercial yet favourite specializations. Other Master Degree programs that can be combined with an MBA include an MS in Journalism, Doctor of Medicine, Master of Public Health, an MS in Education and various others. A Student can combine nearly any Masters Program with their MBA to broaden their reach, and expand their knowledge base. For example, a graduate who is planning on becoming an entrepreneur would do well with second combination as specialization in Entrepreneurship, while a student with an interest in Information Technology should go in for a second degree in the same field. This is a matter of individual preference and deciding on what would be the most effective when it comes to acquiring the job of choice.

A Door to better Opportunities and a Bright Future

A dual MBA degree improves the prospects of any business graduate in uncertain economic conditions. Graduate students would be highly qualified in their field with vital knowledge concerning their area of specialization and hence would be well-equipped with leadership skills. For those who want a better chance of getting into higher management levels soon after graduation, a dual MBA is a wise choice. The main aim is to attain expertise in the field, a go-to guide, which can enable you to handle various challenging situations smoothly and smartly. Any usual Business Program would only brush up on your managerial skills, but a dual MBA would also equip you with a specific skills set/specialisation. It’s essential to be a problem-solver, and to be prepared for real life scenarios, in order to have a deep understanding of one’s responsibilities. With higher management skill set, dual MBA students would be able to grab all of the ins and outs that are involved in their organization, once they become familiar with the position they are working at. At a time when the economy is more unpredictable than ever, having a dual MBA provides protection against job cuts and the possibility of recession. Students have the option of broader selection of skills and specialisation, enabling them to handle a vast area of complex issues. As the saying goes, “The more you know, the more it shows.”Opting for a dual MBA means having more choices when it comes to being eligible for a position. Students are better equipped to enter the job market and take on a variety of job responsibilities. This is especially beneficial for anyone who wants to try new things and welcomes change.

Attaining a dual MBA puts graduate students on the fast track to rank high on the corporate ladder. A dual MBA degree makes it easier to accelerate networking while studying, during internships, and at the interviews. Once you have completed the Dual MBA, it is essential to communicate and make as many useful connections as possible. The business world is fast-paced and it pays well to know the right people at the right time. For anyone who wants to show her/his presence in the world of business, having a dual MBA is the key to success.
