“Thus, any reforms must necessarily come from within the parties themselves”
True. Still a registered Democrat, even if I’m looking for other options (in my state, to participate in a primary, you have to register a party). Willing to throw a few thoughts out, but I don’t know anyone higher up in the party than my local city council rep (who seems to be a pretty decent fellow).
The Republicans I know are pretty firm Trump supporters, and we don’t really talk any more.
“Maybe it is important that we first engage in some introspection and actually hold conversations about these problems in the hopes that our self-criticism might lead us to the solutions to these issues.”
Holding meaningful conversations these days seems challenging. Suggestions on door wedges, topic starters, etc?
