Life After Progress: The Tax Bill
Matthew Barad

A heartfelt cri de coeur, and I applaud your passion.

The vision of a liberal tolerant society has been tested and challenged before, and each time we have had to fight for it.

The common thread of all the awful events you listed is a a loss of faith in our community. There is this ethos of radical selfishness and isolation that has gained the acceptance and approval of nearly half our electorate, one that holds the other in scorn.

My version of a cri de coeur is to defiantly demand to have higher taxes for healthcare, to demand less warfare, to demand we welcome immigrants, to see Americans of all races and creeds and orientations as my kin.
