I began the 1990’s as a Reagan Republican, and ended as a begrudging admirer of Bill Clinton, and by 2008 was an Obama Democrat.

It was partly due to a growing understanding of the world that caused me to shed my youthful naivete, but even more so, it was witnessing the unhinged fury directed at the Clintons.

I was caught short early on in his term when someone asked me point blank what I found objectionable about him, and I realized all my complaints were petty and small ball stuff.

Which made me feel petty and small.

I ended up admiring Bill, and having nothing but scorn for the Republicans who went after him like a pack of jackals.

I admire Hillary, and find nothing about her objectionable. I believe it is true that there are Clinton Rules, where things that are acceptable in any other politician somehow become horrifying in them.
