I completely agree — the way I framed the argument was the most extreme case presented to me, so there are varying degrees of this going on every day, which is a shame.

I think it’s so easy to get caught up in the number seduction because if you truly remove people as people from this equation, you can write a really pretty equation that equals you making money. The people who suggested it have made a LOT of money. It’s literally psychopathic in many ways.

But what is so fascinating to me is seeing how people can marry that psychopathic tendency and justify the behavior. “It’s okay, they were paid money.” That doesn’t account for so many things.
