I think this project idea is super cool! I designed a logo for a summer camp some years ago and I felt like I had so many ideas during the initial conversation; but when it came time to create it, I was stumped. The same thing happened to me when I was in my art class and I was asked to create a piece of art from other peoples art. I thought I had it all figured out but had a hard time dissembling someone else’s work to create my own.

I personally find that getting inspired by others work is the best way to kick start your own creativity. When sketching designs I often look at some of the fashion shows from a few years back just because I may see draping on a dress that I never thought about before. Or you can take inspiration from how one person uses a pattern and incorporate it in a way that has never been done before. Also, in a lot of ways it’s important to study other peoples work, not only to jump start your own creativity, but also to make sure you aren’t repeating a design that it already out there.
