A Criticism of John Leguizamo’s Emmy Speech

2 min readSep 20, 2024

How woke culture is creating delusion

The Emmys had no short of cringeworthy woke propaganda but the one that stood out to me and made me burst out in laughter was actor John Leguizamo’s Speech.

He starts his speech by jokingly referring to himself as a D.E.I (Diversity, equity, and inclusion) not much of a joke if you ask me.

from there, he goes on about how there was very little representation of the Latin community in the media. He complains about Marlon Brando playing a Mexican and even drags down Al Pacino for playing the Legendary character Scarface. Then he brings up the late great Natalie Woods for her portrayal of gorgeous Maria in the Westside story. What John does not seem to understand is that Acting requires acting! you don't need to be a part of the group you are acting as because you are in fact just playing a character.

Neither Heath Ledger nor Jake Gyllenhaal were homosexual but they played two closeted gay men in the fantastic 2005 film Brokeback Mountain.
