What is the physics of nothing?
Ethan Siegel

I do agree that nothingness is outside the universe. But I also believe that time is eternal and has always existed because energy has always existed. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. Therefore the ultimate form of energy has always existed within nothingness before the universe came into existence. I definitely believe that time is an aspect or feature of energy itself, the duration or measure of the motion or movement of energy. Nothingness which is infinite, thus is not spacial or dimensional is completely devoid of anything outside of existence itself. Nothingness is an endless abyss of darkness without temperature, light, sound, or anything physical or otherwise. Nothingness is undefined, being without any feature at all, other being a void and true vacuum.
