My name is Chris Gutierrez and I’m a junior mechanical engineering student at Temple University.

My story is a bit of a mess. I was born in Los Gatos, California. My Colombian parents had come to California for work. When I was about 6 months old we packed our bags and moved back to Colombia. It wasn’t long before my parents got a job offer in Lima, Peru, and so, for the second time in my one year of life we put all our belongings in few suitcases and moved to another country. Thankfully it wouldn’t be another 17 years until I would have to do that again.

In the second grade my parents enrolled me in an international school. It was here that I learned English and how I eventually ended up deciding to attend university in the USA.

I came to Temple University in the Fall of 2016. I was a business management major, which really just meant I had no idea what I wanted to do. A semester later, I switched over to engineering after deciding I could not deal with another three semesters of economics classes and haven’t looked back.

I’m pretty excited for fluids class since I feel like it has a lot of real-world application. I’m also not against this whole blogging thing. I think its a nice change of pace from the technicality of most engineering classes.
