We could look at what survives the passing of the individual from the view of Pratītyasamutpāda: “as this arises, that arises; as this is, that is; as this ceases to be, so also that ceases”. As all that is is interdependent, so by our interactions throughout our lives we survive indefinitely.

Our interactions spread among all that we touch. That is our essence. Some of us have a broad base of interactions, most of us are rather more limited in our ongoing influences but all of us none-the-less survive by the lives we lead.
