Achilles Heal — The Plateau

“Everything feels strange this summer.”

These words, spoken by my wife, Michele, are rather odd considering the setting: we’re in fold out chairs on the beach, soft white sand between our toes, cold alcoholic beverages in hand, and a stunning sunset to gaze at in the distance.

Yet there’s no denying the truth in her words. Normal is not a word you could use to describe the Summer of 2018 for us.
