Bill — It will be interesting to watch this play-out. I think we’ll ultimately see it move away from hobbyists and toward companies. And if that’s a natural evolution (like it was with PPC, eBay, the App Store, etc), then it is what it is. The only issue I see long-term is if Kickstarter doesn’t embrace this and continues to stress the ‘creative projects to life’ message. This will lead to disconnect between how they see themselves and how the market sees them, which could create identity issues that make it easier for a competitor with a clearer message to come in (Indiegogo’s InDemand platform comes to mind. I’ll be following that one closely).
