A British view of American conservatism

Our conservative leader is probably closer to Bernie Sanders than any American conservative offering. That is not to say that he is not well to the right of Sanders. But your American offerings are extreme to us.

Just as modern cars come with air conditioning radio and satnav. So our basic state comes with full healthcare, gun controls, and so forth.

I somehow suspect that you are not shifting but Amercan politics is in the pockets lobbyists. In other words, because money is so significant in winning you may have a system which whilst appearing to be democratic may just be making the rich richer and the poor poorer.
