There are many, many Democrats and progressives who agree with Bernie’s message. The world is in bad shape, and it will either be fixed by agreement or chaos.
The problem is Bernie the person. He has been in Congress 20 years, but he had created no movement. Even now,are there Bernie supporters who are willing to run for office, to push out the entrenched political leaders ? If there are, I have not heard of them.
Bernie is more like a rock star than a leader. He had a lot of fans who want to listen to the revolution song he sings, but are not willing to put in the hard work to make the revolution he sings about.
Back in 2010 I put in a lot of hours working to get the Affordable Care Act passed. Am I happy with the result, just barely, but it was the best that could be done. And it was a lot of work, including some very unpleasant confrontations with Tea Party nuts.
That is what I am not seeing with the Bernie ‘revolution’. Where is the hard dirty work by thousands of supports to make this revolution ? Mostly it seems to be showing up at rallies and caucuses, making lots of noise, and then going home. That is not a ‘revolution’.
