Should Designers Code???
Alan Cooper

I’m a designer in a coder’s body, because I know how to do both, and I’m ever at odds with management because I deliver “for the user” and I code the solutions because there’s nobody else to do it. I feel happiest designing, making sure the user gets what they want, and then some, and I only code reluctantly (which has the strange side-effect of keeping the code concise and simple).

(I spent 10 years in the restaurant business, doing every job except owning one.)
