Why Perfection Is Killing Your Business

I’m going to talk to you about the dangers of striving for perfection. That’s right, the dangers of striving for perfection. Every perfectionist I know is broke, every one of them!

Why are they broke? It’s because perfectionists are always striving to achieve something that’s not even possible.

They often will prepare and prepare and prepare, and they’ll never actually start towards building their dream or whatever they’re seeking because they always have to have all their preparations perfect, and they end up going nowhere.

They end up not getting results.

A word from Salvador Dali

Just Get Started

I’m often reminded of the story of a coaching student I had. We were teaching him how to sell jewelry online, and he set up his own Shopify store.

He set up the store, and he had just a couple of products up.

He’s was like, “I got to get at least 20 or 30 more products on this before I start sending traffic to the site.”

I said, “No, no, no.”

I said, “You got two products on there, that’s fine. Start!

Let’s start bringing in some sales. You can keep adding products as you’re going but go ahead and get started.”

The Army You Have

To his amazement, despite having only two products on his entire site, he had a good About Us section, he had a good all the different things that show trust and reliability of the site, and he was making sales.

Now he’s happy, he’s making sales with two products, and he kept expanding and expanding.

Now he’s making money.

If he had his way, he would’ve waited and waited and waited until he had 30 different products. Maybe he would’ve never even got started.

It took me pushing him to get started.

Whatever your dream is, whatever you want to go after, just do it Take the first step. My favorite expression in life is this:

You’ve got to go to war with the army you have, not with the army you wish you had.

So If you’re waiting for the perfect army, stop right now and start taking MASSIVE action. Go after your dream like a mad dog on steriods!

Zig-Ziglar was famous for saying, “motivation doesn’t last and neither does bathing — that’s why we recommend it daily.”
You can listen in the shower too!

If you understand the importance bathing daily, then you understand the importance of daily motivation, right?
