Over the last few weeks we’ve had the likes of Zelda: Skyward Sword and the free-to-play game Pokemon Unite arrive on Nintendo’s hybrid — but what’s coming out over the next seven days?

Well, we’ve got another super busy week coming up on the Nintendo eShop.

There’s over 30 games hitting the Switch. I’ve put together a list of all of them — each with a brief description, and a link out to more details, where you can see screenshots, trailers, and more.

🛍 Monday, June 28 — Sunday, July 4

Another week, another slew of fresh release hitting the Nintendo Switch. Last week saw Mario Golf: Super Rush and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 come to the hybrid console, but what about the next seven days?

Well, there’s just under 30 games coming to the Switch this week. I’ve listed them all below, each with a brief description, and a link out to more details, where you can see screenshots, trailers, and more.

Sky: Children of the Light is my personal highlight, but Disgaea 6, Destroy All Humans, and Doki Doki Literature Club are also stand outs.

Believe it or not, it’s been nearly twenty years since we last got a Mario Golf game on a Nintendo home console. Yes, we’ve had a handheld entry, but not since 2003’s Toadstool Tour on the GameCube have we had the pleasure of hitting up the Mushroom Kingdom links on the big TV.

Well, the wait is over, as Camelot’s latest entry in the long-running golfing series is here in the form of Mario Golf: Super Rush.

So, how is it?

The game was released for Nintendo Switch on Friday, June 25 — and early reviews are somewhat lukewarm. The…

E3 has come and gone!

The Direct last Tuesday gave Nintendo fans plenty to chew over. Here’s the roughly 40-minute show if you missed it:

Now the dust has settled on the virtual presentation, here are some of my personal highlights/takeaways, shared roughly in the order they appeared:

  • Kazuya of Tekken fame coming to Smash wasn’t on anyone’s radar, but is a sound choice broadly. Personally adding more fighting characters to Smash isn’t very exciting to me — the moveset seems fairly predicable when compared to any potential crazy character choices. Expect an in-depth character presentation soon.
  • Three Life is Strange games on Switch…

It’s that time again. Amazon Prime Day is here (June 21 & 22), bringing the usual slew of deals, and thousands of deep discounts across a huge range of products. It’s a Bezos bonanza.

We’ve taken a look at all of the gaming related bargains and here’s our picks for great Nintendo buys.

Nintendo finally gets the (remote) party started

Super Mario Party
Super Mario Party

Super Mario Party was released for the Nintendo Switch back in late 2018, and has since sold nearly 15 million copies. It was generally well received when it arrived, celebrated as one of the better entries in the long-running party game series, however it was far from perfect as it had a severely lacking online multiplayer mode. Thankfully that’s no longer the case.

At launch you couldn’t play the games main mode online (the long winded board games), and what was available was rather underwhelming — you were stuck with the option of playing just a few of the games…

A little blue-sky thinking results in this rad aerial combat shooter

Before the drab grey and brown games of the HD-era became commonplace, video games were a notably more vibrant affair. Talking specifically, you pretty much knew you were in for a good time if the game you found yourself sat in front of had a vivid blue sky. It’s no joke — an intense azure atmosphere was a mainstay for many arcade hits of the 90s , particularly those from SEGA.

This lack of blue-sky thinking in more modern titles resulted in one much-loved early noughties website making a tongue-in-cheek campaign to see the return of sky blue backdrops in…

After four successful years on the market, here’s what folks make of Nintendo’s hybrid console.

When the Nintendo Switch launched in 2017 it felt like a real breath of fresh air following the admittedly somewhat miserable Wii U era. Because of this positive change in direction, I wanted to check on how the Nintendo community as a whole felt about this then-new hybrid machine — as such, the State of Switch survey was born.

Four years later, and here we are. The Nintendo Switch is undoubtedly a massive runaway success, having now sold over 80 million units worldwide. It’s home to countless smash hit games, a ton of unique exclusive experiences, is something of an…

Nintendo, Mario, and March 31st

For some inexplicable reason Nintendo is taking a page out of the old Disney playbook, sticking some of their games out of reach and back in the vault.

This means come April 1st you won’t be able to buy Super Mario 3D All-Stars for the Nintendo Switch, you won’t be able to get the throwback Mario-themed Game & Watch device, nor will you be able to play the battle-royale caper Super Mario Bros. 35.

Why? Well, 2020 was the 35th Anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. series, and to celebrate Nintendo released a whole slew of Mario-related games.

However, folks…
