Stand for something
What do I stand for?
I stand for life. Not simply for the pursuit of happiness, but for the realization of it; for fairness and equality and for your dreams and my dreams. But more than that, I stand for the things we take for granted — that some of us never even see; the sea, the trees, and all the SPECIES that are being killed, including you and me.
I stand for the future AND the now and I know that somehow, some way, we have to do something — we have to change. We need to look at ourselves, not our cell-selves. Take a break, put it down, take a minute and look around. We have friends and family, and people who we might never meet who could really use the things that we can bring to the table, but we haven’t done those things, become those things, UNLOCKED AND ACHIEVED THOSE DREAMS or our true potential. We need to strive for better because that’s what we’re capable of — a better you and a better me can create the better things that this world needs. Good enough isn’t good enough and if enough of us decide to CHANGE the stuff we’re doing to help the world by pursuing our passions then this world might just live long enough and become STRONG enough for ALL of us to succeed — to see all of our dreams realized.
So write your book, sing your song, do your thing as long as you know you’re not alone here on this planet. Your “thing” should ensure that we all reap the benefits. They say, “A rising tide raises all ships,” so don’t forget what really matters: that you and me, we’re in this thing called life together, forever.
SO MAKE IT COUNT.
