Great piece Erik. I do think you are giving the resort content marketers a wee bit too much credit for the downfall of the secret resort powder day though. The fact is, the number of skiers that want to shred pow on the weekend in the PNW outpaces the amount of lift served terrain there is available on powder day. The economy is strong in the Puget Sound and the discretionary dollars are flowing. Unlike some other parts of the country, more people are learning to ski and ride in the PNW and those folks will also be on the hunt for powder soon. To my thinking, those are the biggest factors driving the hordes.
