Guns don’t save people, people do…

When did firearms become this addictive substance that makes people freak out at the notion or suggestion that it might become slightly more inconvenient to buy certain kinds of high capacity semi automatic variants?

GUNS DO NOT DEFEND OR SAVE PEOPLE’S LIVES, PEOPLE DO. Saying you need a gun or a certain kind of gun to effectively defend yourself is like saying that you need a car every time you go to the corner store. You’d be amazed how many people can defend themselves and how many lives get saved without guns.

Guns don’t do anything. They sit there and literally do nothing. A gun will sit there and watch you get murdered and do nothing about it. Remember, GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE and therefore by the same logic GUNS DON’T DEFEND PEOPLE. One of the biggest pieces of one-sided hypocritical garbage that never gets addressed and is the golden double standard of the gun-nut debate is: ‘Guns don’t kill people, people kill people’.

Guns are somehow incapable of murder but they are capable of miraculous life saving intervention.

The pro gun community is mostly made up of a bunch of armchair experts with a light sprinkle of trained ex-soldiers(who mostly teach gun safety and training classes). Most of the righteous defenders of the 2nd amendment are a bunch of macho wanna-be ‘operators’ and Facebook warriors who rely on hypothetical hero scenarios and conspiracy theories to justify that they are really just a bunch of spoiled brats who want what they want when they want it. Like a child trying to convince their parents that they need a 1000cc motorcycle so they can get to school on time.

THE GOVERNMENT IS NEVER GOING TO ABOLISH GUNS OR THE 2ND AMENDMENT. Never, it’s just never going to happen. This is and will always be a capitalist country and there is just too much capital made from guns to cut off that sweet flow of money.

Look, we all survived the Brady Bill. We didn’t become sitting ducks for the tyrannical government. The criminal population did not rise with illegally purchased firearms and prey on the defenseless citizens of America. Things were fine. It sucked, I like high capacity magazines but we were fine. Nothing terrible happened except a bunch of people didn’t get to buy stuff they wanted.

We even have the NFA. For anyone who’s not aware what this is(The National Firearms Act of 1934): basically, if you have enough money you can pretty much own any gun you want produced before 1986 including actual fully automatic military machine guns, short barreled machine guns/shotguns, suppressors(silencers) and ‘destructive devices’ like certain grenades and artillery. YOU CAN OWN THIS STUFF and it’s awesome, haha and of course not many crimes(literally like 2 homicides) have been committed with NFA firearms. What I’m saying is that we still have some pretty awesome gun rights and the fact that this(The NFA) still exists should ease the minds of gun-nuts everywhere.

Don’t get me wrong, I like guns and I like shooting. I’ve always been fascinated with their mechanics and marksmanship. MAYBE some day there might be a slight chance that I’m put in a position where I need save my life or someone else’s with a gun given that I have one near by or am able to get to one fast enough and use it effectively. In the real world, for people that actually go outside and interact with other people and don’t just sit around fantasizing; we know that situations don’t always go like you want them to. I don’t live in a fantasy world where I think that I will always have a gun in my hand when I need it, I live in a real world where I might have to defend myself or someone with whatever is in my hand or within my reach at the moment.

I suppose I take my chances every time I wake up and face the world. I have a greater chance of dying of cancer, heart disease or in a car accident than I do of being killed by a sinister criminal or terrorist. I’m probably not very good at shooting drones out of the sky or battling platoons of trained soldiers, so if I need to fight the government, I might live longer trying to evade them(and using my brain) rather than shooting at armored vehicles.

I will not live in fear. I will not hand my personal responsibility and well being over to an inanimate object. I will do my best to defend myself and others however I can, if I can. I must be willing to die because I cannot imagine living with the guilt of doing nothing. I own guns but I do not rely on them, I rely on myself. If I got rid of my guns I would still be the same person. If I have to wait 5 days to purchase a high capacity semi automatic rifle, I will still be the same person and If I am no longer able to purchase a high capacity semi automatic rifle, I will STILL be the SAME person. I support the 2nd amendment and I bear arms but I am not dependent on or defined by any material object. I am an individual and I am truly free.
