Afterparty: Backstage after the 2012 election
On election day 2012 I was working as Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign photographer. I started the day in Delaware to photograph the VP voting and ended up back in Chicago to cover his and President Obama’s victory. After the speeches and the confetti drop we headed backstage, ostensively to attend a series of VIP receptions. However, for the traveling staff, who had been on the road non-stop for months, this was also a chance for us to celebrate with our bosses, two men we had spent years working for in order to achieve this moment.
