There are several flaws in your arguments here. Firstly, there are many differences between the criminalisation of homosexuality and leaving the EU, but they’re not relevant to the question of whether or not it is right or democratic to keep fighting for what you believe in. I would want to fight both policies. And if Jeremy Corbyn lost a referendum on abolishing the NHS, I somehow find it hard to believe he would accept that the result had to be implemented, and implemented in the most extreme way possible!

Also, you can still implement the result whilst remaining in the single market and customs union. Unless, like some Conservative MPs, you convince yourself that the EEA is a story made up by Remainers and that Norway doesn’t actually exist.

I do accept that it is necessary to convince the electorate that another vote (a first vote on the deal) should happen. Persuading people of the merits of this idea might therefore be a better idea, rather than using your platform in the media to argue against it.
