Charity Challenge
It is very rewarding to be a part of a company where values are more than just words on a website or mentioned in slick marketing campaigns, but are actual living, breathing values that owners, executives and team members are expected to uphold each and every day.
If you look at any of my social media on a regular basis you can see that I firmly believe that one person can and should make a difference in the world. That each of us should reach out to lend a helping hand whenever possible.
For the third year in a row, my company (yes, I take so much pride in where I work that I call it MY company) has held an annual Charity Challenge. Below is an excerpt (highlights, underlines, bolding are my own) from our president regarding this challenge.
CONGRATULATIONS, WE DID IT AGAIN!
For the past two years, it has been very rewarding to communicate the results of our Annual Charity Challenge. As I’ve told each of you before, it is the most rewarding result I have the privilege of reporting to you, far more rewarding than any production numbers or financial results.
Our 2015 results have been totaled and we have achieved our goal once again! Because of your time and generosity, not only did we reach 100% employee participation in our 2015 Charity Challenge, but we far surpassed what we hoped we would achieve. My sincere gratitude and appreciation to each member of our Starkey Mortgage Family.
As you can see by the list below, we assisted in helping over 330 organizations this year. The donation of your time contributed well over 3000 man hours in serving our communities. This is remarkable and something we should each be very proud of. In addition to these man hours served, many of our offices also donated over 2757 canned foods to their local food banks at a cost that is hard to measure, but likely accounts for another $2875 in employee contributions.
The next challenge for each of us is to continue our charitable ways and efforts on an ongoing basis and live up to our mission and value statements. At Starkey Mortgage, we are a different kind of company where people come first!
