I’m tired of silence. I’m tired of the people who want to continue to live their lives, as though nothing were wrong, meeting the execution of citizens with a shrug. As though their lives were not corrupted by their silent…
We have all become victims of our inactions and indifference, perhaps because we FEEL either too helpless to make a meaningful change or very remotely removed from the issues by otherwise more ‘serious’ issues. How we see the death of a fellow human being is now a matter of perspective, whether color, association, geography, social status, etcetera.
I am tired of waking up tomorrow to hear of another wasted life (black or white) but I am more tired and worried for the many we don’t hear or see and the many that are being casually rationalized by the media. Colorado, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestinian, Israel, Nigeria, India, I am tired.
Black Lives Matters, I agree in totality and any attempt to take away from this is offensive to our collective consciousness and our creator. If fair be fair, then White Lives, Cops Lives and almost all lives should matter?
I said ALMOST not ALL. Some lives shouldn’t matter unless they are so proclaimed by the justice system of the jurisdiction. (I subscribed to the justice system because I can’t find a better alternative). I will be stating the obvious to assume that he who kills carelessly by the sword should die carefully by the sword or put away from harming innocent children, brothers, sisters, parents, friends, … Why should 5 innocent cops die because some other cops did something somewhere? I still don’t get it and never will. That’s even tiring!
Backtracking, I am very tired and scared because I am black and it seems there’s a different justice system for blacks.
…and if you think otherwise, watch the videos again. I don’t mean only the recent two instances, I mean ALL.
POTUS, you have a record of doing the otherwise perceived impossible, fix this or at best, start.
