Being a distributed network, my opinion is that publishing across many channels embodies the spirit of the web, rather than thwarts it. Sure, some of those channels will be “Web-Mart” style, heavy-hitter places, and some can still be Mom & Pop blogs. To me, the web is about propagating information through the arteries of that network, not creating a destination that demands the focus of the network.

Besides, the metaphor of a “website” is going to be more questionable to the next generation (not saying it will vanish) as the way they consume web content evolves.
