What Google Cloud Vision API means for Deep Learning Startups
Alessandro Vitale

Good points, but I think it’s not the end of the world for the AI/ML startups (I’m co-founder of www.imagga.com). Lots of startups are doing quite well competing with quite popular google products (analytics space to mention one). Having to compete with company as Google is maybe not the best thing to happen, but can actually open few doors — some enterprise clients will never trust their data to google, people will consider more and more ML as a way to go due to the Google move to the space, lots of opportunity to provide value where not-so-flexible Google API might fail, custom training for very specific cases, etc.
