The Weird Divide Between Artists and Creatives

Thanks for calling out one big point.

“Creative” as a noun drives. me. in. sane. An *artist* is by definition *creative*, but all sorts of other folks — strategists, account people, copywriters, janitors — can *be* creative (and should be given the right to be). Giving one group of people who do a certain that certain title is offensive.

“Creative” is an adjective — it’s a way to describe someone, or the outputs of their work. Wouldn’t it be so terribly offensive if people at agencies called the strategists the “Intelligents”?
