The hard cap really hurts this idea. Because in the NBA, if you draft a star, you can keep signing him regardless of cap room if the owner is willing to pay up. Plus, no one makes a direct difference on both offense and defense in the NFL so it’s harder to justify. The NFL’s cap though makes for the best parity because you’re actually worth what someone will pay you, rather than a max deal in the NBA. Having 3 max players take up the majority of your cap in basketball and they can mask their 9 role players deficits. Harder to do when their are 50 other players
