Keep it up!
You know, sometimes I wonder which thing is more important: diet or exercise. I actually think if I had to pick one (fortunately I don’t), it’s diet. A least, for my body it seems to be. And I ran into a similar thing with the cardio eventually—after the initial period of “I just need to get used to actually walking/moving on this treadmill/elliptical/whatever” my cardio has turned into intense but not overly long intervals on the stair-stepper machine. (Two minutes on the lowest setting, one minute on the highest I can handle within hear rate boundaries.) Not “fun,” and I can’t really watch Property Brothers while doing it, but wow, it’s effective in terms of effort per minute. :)
