I understand the problems you’re addressing here, but I don’t think its fair to call out Slack and…

Ironically, your response validates Samuel’s issues.

Firstly, you clearly state Slack is only good if you limit the number of groups or teams you are in.

Do you know how impossible that is with every team and group under the sun jumping onboard Slack? It won’t be long before belonging to 10 teams on Slack is quite normal. I’m already in 5 myself.

What’s the point of Slack if we have to limit to only the most critical teams? That automatically tells me Slack is broken in the ways that Samuel highlights.

Next, you say it’s the user, not the tool.

So you’re tacitly saying Slack is a problem for anyone prone to distraction.

Overall, you would therefore say Slack is only good if used with avery limited number of teams and for only people with good self-discipline. Together that wipes out most people.

Or, in other words, you are in fact agreeing with everything Samuel said of Slack’s shortcomings.

Simply, you’re saying, Slack has productivity issues that affect almost everyone but a few like yourself. ;)
