It’s usually a common thing for one who has had a chance to travel out (for a while) to have that feeling that he/she has acquired knowledge/understanding of life & things of life. That he/she knows the better way and by that feeling develops a sense of “I am greater”.

I sometimes almost fall into that trap.

Humility is the way to go about it.
