Great piece! As someone who deals with depression in the U.K. I can say that the process of diagnosis is poor. My first visit to the doctor resulted in an instant prescription to citalopram, something that’s been confirmed by talking to many others who visit the GP and report feeling low as the ‘likely solution to their issue’
Pumping pills neither helps those who feel temporarily emotionally overwhelmed or those who continue to deal with mental illness on a permanent basis.
