Managers are not Leaders
Having worked in the service industry for most of my career, I can spot the difference between a Manager and Leader with some ease.
A Manager is literally just that, a manager of people. Most Managers like to micro-manage and are controlling. They hold themselves above others and don’t have the grace or humility to accept failure.
Leaders on the other hand inspire, they set vision and create purpose. Failure is part of the process of achieving the vision and they understand this, in fact they accept it. Leaders learn from their failures and only consider it a failure if nothing was learned.
Leaders are respected, Managers are feared. Anyone can be a Manager, but it takes patience and humility to be a true Leader.
