In 2017, I published a blog post about a spreadsheet I was using to model Growth and to size up and prioritize growth opportunities. This spreadsheet was an open source tool that I was distributing for free and I called it the “Predictive Growth Model”. After two years of improvements and tens of thousands of people all over the globe using it in their products, I am happy to announce the latest version.

I am making this announcement at Growth Marketing Stage in Kyiv, Ukraine on April 4th, 2019. Growth Marketing Stage is the first growth conference in Ukraine and the event to…

…learn from the world’s leading experts on how to attract and retain the right audience, align business models with the user experience, optimize conversion, increase the lifetime value.

What’s new in Growth Model v2.0

  • Increased the periods of time from 624 to 730, which should be enough dates for two years of DAU, fourteen years of WAU, or 60 years of MAU. If you need more periods, a spreadsheet is likely not the answer. :)
  • Increased the flexibility of retention scenarios by allowing any alternative retention curve instead of the previous overall increase/decrease.
  • Improved the scenario impact analysis by allowing the user to measure the impact at either a numeric period or a specific date.
  • Added new examples of acquisition and retention scenarios.
  • Chart and formatting improvements.
