First snowstorm of the season: who will see the snow?

The first snowstorm of the season is upon us, and there will obviously be MUCH bigger snowfall and totals with storms throughout the winter months.

But since it’s the first, it is always a good reminder to drive safely, give yourself plenty of distance, and make sure you have ways of clearing the snow!

The snow is not expected to impact all of Wisconsin; the majority of the snow will fall north of highway 64. There are plenty of winter weather alerts including Winter Storm Watches in northern Wisconsin, Winter Weather Advisories in Minnesota, and even Winter Storm Warnings for the northern tip of Minnesota.

Models are keeping a chance for a light wintry mix or snow showers for Green Bay, Madison, and Milwaukee.

Here’s a few estimates for snowfall from this system area-wide:

*Eagle River 2”-4”

*Rhinelander 1”-2”

*Wausau <1”

*Eau Claire <1”

*Stevens Point <1”

*Milwaukee, Madison, and Green Bay SNOW SHOWERS

Another Clipper system could impact the area next week, and it looks like a very similar scenario.
