From Jaguar’s cringe-worthy “Game of Drones” to the nightmarish world of Toyota’s Apple Juice, you might wish you could un-see these ads. But you can’t.

Toyota Corolla

It’s unclear exactly what was being put in the water at Saatchi and Saatchi, but the results were the above video: an advert which features bizarrely off-kilter line delivery married to nightmarishly hyper-real visuals. The refrain “Apple Juice” rounds off a car-crash of a car ad, although you have to admire their chutzpah for trying something so different.

Jaguar XJ

This effort from Jaguar has the feeling of a company trying ever-so-hard to appeal to a hot young demographic. From the dated breakbeat soundtrack complete with 8-bit gaming effects to the unimaginatively futuristic neon illuminations, this ad is tired, tenuous and even crowbars in an appalling Game of Thrones pun to add insult to injury. All this from the company that brought you the E-Type.

Lincoln MKC

“Ok guys, I’ve got it. Matthew McConaughey sitting in a Lincoln, looking at a bull. Then he says: that’s a big bull. There’s an ambient soundtrack in the background. It’ll cost about 8 billion dollars.”

It was at that point that Jim realised he would never work in advertising again.

Subaru Brand Campaign

A dog, who is a married father, is perving on another dog, who is a sexy poodle, until the first dog gets spotted by his angry dog wife. SUBARU.

Any questions?

Nissan Micra

David Lynch, director of traumatic dystopias such as Twin Peaks, might not seem like the most obvious choice to direct a car ad. Combine his upsetting worldview with nonsensical compound words (“Simpology” and the almost insulting-sounding “Spafe”) and a disturbing techno-noir soundtrack for a truly unforgettable advert.
