Official Press Release — 11 January 2018

Malvern Town FC are pleased to announce the appointment of seven new directors, forming a new board to oversee the running of the club, currently still in contention for winning the West Midland Premier league title.

The new board comprises primarily of local businesspeople from a range of industries, all with a wealth of skills, contacts and experience that will be invaluable for driving the club’s upward progression. Chris Pinder is redistributing his shareholding to be split equally between the new directors in order to ensure a fair and democratic system of decision making. The new directors are Keith Chaplin, Lee Hooper, Donna Parker, Carl Pitt, Adrian Platt, Martin Shuttlewood and Dene Whittal-Williams. Chris Pinder was unanimously voted to stay on as Chair with Keith Chaplin as Vice Chair.

Pinder said of the new board:

“After announcing my intention to end sole ownership in October 2017, several encouraging meetings took place to get to this stage. It’s an exciting and positive time because the new board has the right mix of specialisms to drive the club forward at a faster pace.”

Keith Chaplin commented:

“The first order of business for the new board is ensuring that Les Jones’ side are supported as best we can in order to push for the league title. Increased fundraising through more events and other new sponsorship initiatives are a high priority. We are all looking forward to pushing on now and working as a team to take Malvern to the next level.”
