2017 in Pop

Hi everybody! Remember these comics? Neither did I!!

Yeah, 2017 was a difficult year for me, as I imagine it was for a lot of us. My usual comic-making schedule fell in the cracks between all the mass tragedy and my own mental health problems. I’m embarrassed I let them slip so late.

But hey, I’ve done these since 2014, and even if they’re a little late this year, that’s not gonna stop me. If I can’t shit-talk a bunch of millionaire celebrities in comic form, what joy do I have left?

The usual disclaimer: my criteria for these lists is any song that peaked within the top 20 spots on the Billboard Hot 100 within the year (Otherwise this list would be nothing but Carly Rae Jepsen and Charli XCX and St. Vincent and Fever Ray and any of the other great songs by extremely gay women released this year). I also make absolutely no pretense of objectivity. These comics are my way of ranting about my opinions, and if you like any of the songs I hated or vice versa, I don’t think that makes you a bad person. Please stay out of my mentions about it, tho, go make your own comic, or just go outside maybe?
