Introducing AceSpace
My name is Chris Sabaitis, and I’m a lifelong tennis player. I first picked up a racquet when I was four, and have loved tennis ever since, competing in juniors and playing throughout college. Now that I’ve graduated, I have fewer structured practices but I still hit the court every weekend.
When I began traveling for junior tennis, my friends and I would run into the same problem from city to city: we couldn’t find available tennis courts. Every time we competed out of state, we’d spend hours looking for open, affordable training facilities.
The odds were usually against us. Tennis clubs were expensive, and frequently required a membership. Public courts were easy to access, but difficult to reserve. And even when we did find a facility, there was no way to guarantee the number of courts: half of us might end up sitting on the sidelines waiting for the other half to finish their matches and warm-ups. All of this added up to wasted time, delayed warm-ups, canceled practices, and frustrated athletes.
Every tennis player I know has a story like this, and after losing countless hours of court time I decided to address the problem. Last year, I created AceSpace, a mobile and online app designed to help tennis players locate available courts across the country. My goal is to streamline the search process, allowing players to find, compare, and book available courts quickly and efficiently.
AceSpace compiles data from participating tennis facilities in your geographical area, allowing you to search by proximity, price, and court availability. We also work with clubs around the country to manage their entire facility, providing players with access to pros and programs, among others. Using the app eliminates the need for calls and web searches by providing quick and accurate information to help you move ahead with your matches, warm-ups, and lessons.
Tennis is a lifelong sport, and by improving access to courts I hope to offer a smooth search platform to players of all ages. Whether you’re a rising junior player, collegiate competitor, or just a tennis devotee like me, AceSpace will ensure that you can play where you want, when you want.
