Why Therapy is For the Elite

It’s got nothing to do with money, finances, or tangible wealth to access it

I’ve been A practicing psychotherapist for almost 10 years in many different capacities with many different types of clients.

I’ve provided therapy as an employee of the government, private companies, and now as just myself in private practice.

What I’ve come to learn is that therapy is the highest form of mental healthcare and requires elite faculties and willingness.

Unlike psychiatry, which only requires that you meet with your psychiatrist and take your medication, good therapy requires consistent and prolonged engagement.

Unlike books, blogs, articles, videos, and courses which only require you to read, listen, and/or watch; therapy requires your active involvement and engagement both verbally and nonverbally.

Unlike mental health apps and journaling which require active participation, therapy requires your mind to be stretched and interacted with by another human being trained to do so.

To get psychosocial-spiritual here, therapy is the only form of mental healthcare that requires your mind, heart, and body to be actively engaged in direct interaction with another human. It’s the most elite form of mental healthcare and requires elite commitment to wellness.
