When thinking about this I often come to an additional conclusion. How are we going to spend the rest of our lives? If the traditional pursuit of money and things and fabulous careers have gone sour because the world has gone rotten we still have to live out our lives.

We can choose to take it easy and do art and play music. That’s ok. We can get drunk a lot and morbidly share bad news with others who feel disempowered and defeated. But it’s not an exciting life.

The act of doing, oddly, lifts a huge burden from one’s shoulders. We can do that alongside doing artful things that give us pleasure.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
